A Simple, Elegant & Modern Wedding You'll Go Nuts Over...
The New Classic: Ariel + Brant
While we have so much fun with unconventional weddings, we will forever be in love with the perfectly executed traditional wedding. Ariel and Brant knew they wanted a classic wedding, but wanted it to be unforgettable—and that’s where we came in!
Ariel (a Queens, New York native) and Brant (originally hailing from Maryland) already had a few ideas, both big and small, that they wanted to incorporate into their big day. So we pulled them all together to create a wedding for the books.
Ariel’s knockout ivory gown was a lucky selection from Kleinfeld Bridal's sample sale, and struck just the right balance of glamour and elegance with the most beautiful touches of sparkle. Brant (and his groomsmen) wore tuxedos made by Brant’s father’s company, a truly special wedding gift. And in addition to a fun, peacock bowtie and unexpected checkered cufflinks, Brant’s look was finished off with this sweet detail: [photo of custom label]
The beautiful summer wedding took place in August of this year at Whitby Castle in Rye, New York. Not one—but three!—flower girls led the way down the aisle during the outdoor ceremony, which was accompanied by live music. Forgoing traditional round bouquets, Ariel decided on beautiful, lush florals by Days of Mays Florals that looked fresh-picked from nature. The picture-perfect castle backdrop was utterly romantic, and the couple absolutely glowed in the bright afternoon sunlight.
And of course, the bride made some time for a quick post-ceremony selfie!
After a tear-jerkingly beautiful ceremony, it was time to dine and break it down on the dance floor. Sticking to a bright and airy palette of ivory with accents of blush and black, the reception was the perfect marriage of modern chic and traditional elegance.
Ariel even took a break from the festivities to give the turntables a spin!
And for a really flavorful send off? The bride and groom gave custom blends of Haitian spices to guests as parting gifts made by the mother of the bride. We’re definitely adding this to our list of favorite personal touches.
Traditional weddings can be daunting, but if kept simple and sweet and with a dash of modern updates, they can be truly remarkable. We were delighted to plan and bring to life Ariel and Brant’s nuptials, and this was one wedding we won’t soon forget. Here at Björn and Company, we take great pride in not just our planning versatility, but our dedication to excellence and making your day as perfect as it can be. So whether it’s a large affair on the scale of Ariel and Brant’s, or a petite gathering of the closest family and friends, we’ve got you covered.
