Keisha & Liz Summer Soirée In Rye, New York
Keisha is one of the most stylish women in my life, so when she asked us to plan & design her nuptials to Liz, I knew I was on a fun ride. At first, Keisha wanted to tie the knot in NYC, but when I recommended Whitby Castle in Rye to them and took them on a site visit, the search was over. Right then and there, the fun started. The pair has been together for 9 years before they decided to get hitched. What I loved most about Keisha, is that she knew what she wanted. With her gown already selected, she was ready, lol.
Liz, on the other hand, completely trusted me with dressing her and when I first saw her in her jumpsuit, I couldn’t stop crying, it flowed beautifully on her and she looked absolutely exquisite. The pair looked so exquisite together that it caught the eye of the editors at New York Magazine and was featured in their Fall/Winter Issue. (See Article Here)
For the wedding ceremony that took place outside, we sure got lucky with the weather. The beautiful structure provided by YourChuppahNY with drapes, surrounded by florals by Evelisa Florals, gave that beautiful, clean aesthetic, but still, we still didn’t want to take away from the beautiful castle. I would have to admit that to date, Keisha & Liz’s ceremony was the most emotional, so many tears. I cried like someone who just watched an entire season of Just Us, lol.
Once the ceremony was over, all guests were welcomed by and escorted through the castle by the Sugar Tone Brass band, a New Orleans style brass band leading them into the cocktail hour, which was really fun to watch.
So let us get into these details. Keisha favorite color is magenta & silver and she wanted to incorporate those colors into the big day. Liz & Keisha gave us complete creative control for the wedding, which really made us happy. So I teamed up with Evelisa Florals in Westchester to create an elegant feel with a touch of color. The great thing about Keisha is that she knew exactly what she wanted and wouldn’t settle for anything less than the best which put me under pressure a little, but we enjoyed the creative process together. Our friends over at BBJ linens provided metallic linens which really completed the entire look.
It really turned out to be a perfect day. Guests are still talking about the wedding. So much fun was had and if I could, I would go and do this all over again. Check out their video below and make sure you grab the tissues.
