Min & David's Elegant Manhattan Wedding
As I’m taking a trip down memory lane, it dawned on me that I never talked about Min & David’s wedding which was my very first wedding back in the summer of 2013. The wedding took place at The Harold Pratt House on the Upper East Side. I was like “Oh my Gawd, I am from Africa, first wedding on the UES, How should I talk? How do I act?”, lol, just kidding. Back to the story at hand.
I instantly fell in love with David & Min, (side note, David’s parents were the ones who gave me my first shot at wedding coordinating). Min, I can only describe as bubbly, knows what she wants, dimples deep than the Indian ocean, all in all-adorable. David comes from a great family who I have known for quite some time, he is a little more calm, which makes them a the perfect match, because they really balance each other out. They share a love that really only exist in a fairytale and one-of-a-kind.
Min looked sensational in her wedding gown, designed by the late Amsale and she completed her dress with a pair of gold strappy Burberry heels, while David was a stud in his Ralph Lauren Black Label tuxedo.
So, let’s get into the gorgeous details. Min, an architect here in NYC has a very editorial style, and you could see it all in the details. The table centerpieces were minimal, but at the same time made a huge impact. All tables had a great mix of white peonies, green & white hydrangeas which gave the room an elegant feel complimented by candelabras.
The wedding cake which we later featured in our blog “8 wedding cakes that are almost too pretty to eat” was probably my all-time favorite cake because of the simple, elegant nature of it.
Five years later, Min and David still lives happily ever after.
